About the Attorney

Sidney Childress was born in Dallas in 1966 and is a 6th-generation native Texan. Sidney enlisted in the Marine Corps after high school and was honorably discharged in 1990. Sidney also received a business degree from the University of Texas (Austin) in 1990. He received a law degree from the University of Southern California in 1993. While in law school, Sidney worked in a Legal Aid Clinic, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office, and for a federal judge.

Sidney has been licensed to practice law in Texas since 1993 and in New Mexico since 2005. Sidney is admitted to practice law before the bars of the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Northern and Western Districts of Texas. He is also admitted to practice law in the U. S.  District Court  for  New Mexico.

Sidney’s experience includes approximately 30 civil jury trials and numerous non-jury trials, mediations and arbitrations in many different areas of the law, representing both Plaintiffs and Defendants.  Trials have included real estate and partnership disputes, product defect and personal injury claims, civil rights  cases,  business  tort  and  contract  disputes,  and  probate issues.  Sidney also provides  legal  services  in  the  areas  of  business  and franchise law,  insurance coverage disputes, and consumer  protection litigation. Sidney has filed and successfully settled class-action lawsuits benefiting thousands of consumers.

Sidney's pro bono commitments have been in the areas of fair housing and  elder  law.   In  15+  years  as  a  lawyer,  Sidney  has  also  been  court-appointed  to  serve  as  a  Guardian-Ad-Litem  for  over  75  children.   In his spare time, Sidney enjoys the outdoors, music, trying to stay fit, and spending time with his friends and family.
